Lesley’s Lyrical Art
As a Lyrical Artist I try to embrace what the word evokes in an imaginative, romantic, and expressive way. My inspiration comes from the beauty and colour in the Natural World, which can also be expressed in the poetic written word; I believe this is where Art and words are intertwined!
This is me in my studio making choices with different media.
Art is full of choices and inspiration, as well as great enjoyment!
I love to combine my art with the written word when it seems appropriate, as I’ve done here!

If you want to know a little more about how I became interested in Art, I can’t really remember ever not drawing or painting or composing rhymes; it was never something I had the opportunity to do as a career. We all have a different path to follow.
My earliest work is featured here, it may make you smile at what was obviously my attempt to create a Picasso style painting!
This was an old wooden sideboard I bought years ago in a Charity Sale. It’s a great place for keeping bits of Art stuff that I don’t use very often - such a good buy! I enjoyed decorating it, and the Acrylic paint hasn’t faded.
This is one of my larger canvases 150cm x 100cm. if you look in my ‘Commissions’ section, you will see the commission I fulfilled that was based on this canvas. I used thick Acrylic paint and different pastes to achieve this impasto effect. My inspiration for this was a real ‘Rainbow tree. As nature achieves better than any artist, I decided to go where my inspiration led me!
